The Isle of Harris has a large number of businesses which can supply excellent products and service. Whether it’s eating out, activities, purchasing local goods or learning about the Island.

Eating out

Harris Hotel - Located nearby, the hotel offer 3 course table d’hôte menus as well as bar lunches and afternoon teas. Fresh seafood and local produce a speciality.

Hotel Hebrides – Recently restyled boutique hotel which offers bar lunches and a la carte meals from renowned chef James Stocks. A distinct twist on Hebridean cuisine.

Scarista House – Renowned eatery which serves high quality fare in a unique setting. Scarista house is a former Georgian manse with a unique historical character.

Ardhasaig House – Evening meals are available using fresh locally caught produce. Meals are tailored to individuals’ requirements prior to service. Reserve early for availability.

Harris Inn – Located in Tarbert, the inn provides a warm welcome and hearty pub meals, within a cosy bar lounge surrounding.

Skoon Art Café – Located in the bays of Harris. Skoon Art Café is not only an art gallery, but also a purveyor of fantastic home baking, teas, coffees and warming soups.

First Fruits - Located just beside the Tourist Information centre in Tarbert. Breakfasts, lunches and evening meals are all available from this cosy little café restaurant.


St. Kilda - Take a once in a lifetime trip to St Kilda, a UNESCO world Heritage centre and marvel at the volcanic scenery and its lost community. or

Golfing – Play on what is regarded as one of the most scenic courses in the world. A fantastic 9 hole course above the beaches in Scarista, giving great views while you play.

Scaladale Centre – For Kayaking / Archery / Climbing / Guided Walks - contact the centre and you can book groups or individuals onto the centres activities.

Holmasaig Gallery – Visit Margarita Williams and view her range of watercolours and prints inspired by the landscape and changing moods of the Isle of Harris.
